Just found this group and thought I would explore. I was diagnosed 1.5 years ago in my early 50's. In many ways it was a relief. It answered a number of whys I had about my body's abnormal reactions. I'm really still trying to figure things out.
The people around me are really trying to support me, but I don't know what I need. I don't know what issues are normal aging and what is MS. For the most part I just explain that my MS is mild and when I try to explain how it affects my body it's almost like it aged me 25 years. I can still do most things but slower and with more limitations. Hope that makes sense.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi and let you know you may be seeing more of me.

Hi and welcome! This is a great place for fun, information, and to get your questions answered 🙂. The best advice I have is to exercise - keep moving - so you don’t lose it. Dr. Aaron Boster has an extremely informative YouTube channel, Dr, Gretchen Hawley has great exercise classes online aswell.
Hello and welcome. I hope we'll be hearing from you often!
I second the recommendation of Aaron Boster's YouTube videos. He's a neurologist who runs an MS clinic in Columbus, OH. He has a gift for explaining what you can do to manage your MS, how to work with your neurologist, understanding DMTs, etc. So be sure to check it out. 😊
Hi FormerClevelander, and welcome! So glad you found our group. For many of us, the diagnosis of M.S. was a relief after months or years of symptoms and no answers or being misdiagnosed. It can be difficult at times to separate M.S. symptoms from normal aging stuff, but over time, as you learn how your M.S. is affecting you, you may be able to separate those symptoms from age related issues. Hope to hear more from you. 😊
Welcome new friend😊❤️! As you go through your journey, you’ll start to discern the “ordinary(best way to describe it) and MS gearing its annoying head! I was diagnosed at fifty and now in my sixties 🙏 Diet and Exercise (on good days) makes a huge difference, as well as my faith! Everyone is unique in their journey and support, insight and knowledge sharing is part of what makes this community so awesome! We all experience the “roller coaster “ ride of this MS life, I believe you’ll start to know your body and be the best advocate for your health! Blessings and strength my friend! NeeC
Welcome to a nice group of people! It is a safe place to get to talk to folks that probably will " get" what you are talking about.. Hope to see more from you soon
Welcome to the forum, FormerClevelander ! Many members in this forum can offer lots of personal experience that can assist you in your ‘ms’ journey, if you can call it that. You can visit mymsaa.org for more resources. I forward to hearing more from you! 🤗
