I don’t know how i did it but I finally managed to take my first copaxone injection. And of course it went really well just minor stinging which was gone within 20 minuets. I wish I had just done it sooner. There is no doubt in my mind that fear is our very worst enemy it will cripple us far worse than any disease. My fear of the medication nearly cost me everything. I overcame that fear and find myself stronger than I was even just a few hours ago. If there is one thing I can pass on, it’s this
Your fear will never let you down if you allow it to control you. I chose to challenge my fear and learned I was letting myself down. Now I control me and shown fear the defeat it deserved for stealing so much of my life. With the help from prayer, friends and even strangers I have prevailed and so can any of us.

I used to be on avonex and had to do weekly injections. I really hate needles and did not look forward to Friday night "stabbings". Massive flu like symptoms from the avonex didn't help my aversion to Friday nights. The flu like symptoms were supposed to stop after 3-4 months but never did after almost a year. I'm on tecfidera now and only have to swallow 2 pills per day and am doing much better on that. I don't think i could do self-injections again.
I am so scared of taking any drugs, medicine but I to am going to face my fear with ocrevus real soon. I will be strong and get it done congrats good job

You are now a warrior fighting fearlessly against the disease. Most of us can remember the terror of getting that first injection- but it is never as bad as our imagination leads us to believe it will be. Now you have ALL the power over your life that the (completely normal human reaction) of fear had so cleverly taken hold of. We are ALL proud of your bravery and we are here for you for anything you need.
So happy for you Jeremyhess1980 Did you have a Shared Solutions nurse come out to your home for training? That's when I did my first Copaxone injection. I used the autojector as I was too afraid to use just the needle - they scare me though I did 'think' about doing it that way but never did. After 11 years on various doses of the Copaxone I am now on Tecfidera and doing well.
