I am nearing the time when I may need a powered scooter. Recently in the mail, I received ads for two. One is a Solite Scooter, the other is a Zoomer Power Chair. I was just wonderfinmg if anyone out there has had experience with either of these, or if there are any recommendations for a different model powered chair.

If you travel you probably want to make sure it is TSA approved. My husband got me one (without asking me) that I don't think is TSA approved. Currently, I don't need one, but I am sure I will before too long.

Started with an ATTO Mobility Scooter when I realized that I needed a scooter to get around, that it folded up for storage was the main attraction, did not realize it will not fit in airplane overhead plus had no suspension and more than a few times ran over a steep incline and tipped over, there is a learning curve with mobility scooters, as MS progressed have now graduated to a Quantum Edge 3 Power Chair after being evaluated by physical therapist and scooter salesman none of my mobility options were inexpensive the alternative is dismal house bound life, hope this helps. If possible it's best to stay away from people who have vested interests in parting you from your money, and seek an independent opinion from someone like an Occupational therapist or suitably trained physiotherapist as to what your actual needs are and what type of scooter may suit you best. You don't want to make expensive mistakes by buying one you get talked into via some smooth sales pitch and then find it's just not right for you.

I agree with Frances_B I had a Travel pro three-wheel scooter and fell off 3 times because it did have an ant-tilt feature and in the state of Georgia all sidewalks and streets are not level. My physical therapist did not like that scooter, so she talked to an Invacare rep., and my neurologist. They all filled out paperwork in March 2023 and I was approved in May 2023 to get a power wheelchair. I have PPMS and my legs are a big problem but with this power wheelchair am able to tilt, recline, elevate and stretch my legs in and out. I think it all depends on your needs. Good luck.

The company that made my chair is Invacare. Go to their website you will see different types of chairs. And also search for Certified Seating and Mobility.
