Good morning π things are looking good for me here in Greater Manchester, UK! Sure, I've had a couple of nights where I haven't got to sleep properly, but once I do go, I don't wake up until my husband's alarm goes off so he can wake up in time to get ready for work, if not earlier π€£ I've got my carer, who comes to spend 2 1/2 hours with me, mainly for "social," so I don't go crazy with loneliness when hubby's at work. I've got a good stock of my daily medication, like lamotrigine & tegretol for epilepsy, and baclofen, folic acid & vit d for the MS, and I've now been able to switch my neurologist from Preston, because I previously lived in Accrington and that fell under Preston, to Salford, because I've moved to Westhoughton, in Bolton, and my closest hospital falls under the same health trust as Salford. I met my new neurologist, in person, who did all the pinprick, vibration, look into my eyes, walking tests with me, and I've now got a new occupational therapist because of him, and she's referred me to quite a few people! Like a physiotherapist, so I can get a splint for my dropped foot, counselling, so I can get my feelings out of my head in a healthy way (I actually have an appointment with him this Thursday), I got a bed rail from the OT! And I'll be getting my bathroom converted into a wet room so I don't have to worry about falling if I get out of the bath (because our shower's over the bath π). So, very productive few weeks! And now, because I've got a new neuro team, I've got a new MS nurse! She's called Nina, and she's already got my kesimpta on order and getting delivered to me! She told me I just need to get my next lot of vaccinations before she can send someone out, on a home visit! To watch me for any reactions on my first dose! And I managed to get my vax's brought forward, still at an awkward surgery, but my carer is happy to change her hours, and other people she sees, around and drive me there! So, plan for this month: my 1st appointment with the counsellor, an MRI next Saturday, see my GP to go over my new meds next Tuesday, go and see Rock Orchestra with the hubby on 21st, get the vax's on the 26th! Busy, busy, busy month π€£ I get 3 vax's on this round: covid, flu, and pneumonia! I'm only 29 π !!! Oh well, hubby's in a mood because his normal train's cancelled "due to a fault on this train", his car's getting it's MOT so he doesn't have it at the moment, and he's even managed to get ready earlier today, with a jumper because it's nearly Arctic in his office! But, he doesn't have to iron a shirt π !
Just to add, for the fiasco for the North of England: today, train drivers are on strike, hubby's having to get a bus into work, hubby still doesn't have his car (many things need mending on it) so he's had to wake his brother up to pick him up and take him to the bus stop where the V2 bus stops π thank god he set an alarm for an hour earlier than his usual wake up time π and then later on today, the PM is likely to announce that the northern part of the "all powerful" HS2 railway line won't be going ahead, and instead the Northern Powerhouse Rail π Northern Rail is a shambles at the best of times! Its the company that runs his normal trains π€¬
But, I've just had a call from him, at 07:53, telling me he's on the bus now, and it's set off! Thank god for bus lanes too!!!! ππ
