I finally won my year and a half battle for SSA disability.

After a filing and two appeals, I’ve finally been approved for SSA disability. I’ve been defending myself for over a year against someone sitting in an office without any medical training. Twice an individual sitting in their office felt they were smarter than my neurologist. Finally a judge ruled in my favor. The reduction in stress has been such a relief. I’m not happy to be disabled, but I wanted to stand up and scream, “I’m officially disabled!”

To anyone out there still fighting this battle, stay strong.

Congratulations, ElvisScooter . It’s a sad state of affairs when one needs to essentially sue the US government (of the people, for the people, by the people) to get what they need and deserve.

Congratulations...celebrate Being approved is similar to legitimizing your MS. I was just 50 when I went on total disability because of aggressive Osteoarthritis. I guess MS was just a bonus 18 years later!

congratulations on being acknowledged finally. My wish is that i could get that approved even though i can work because then I'd be eligible for Medicare without having to work so hard to support myself. Anyway Kudos. nicely done.

I felt exactly the same when I was able to get the UK's version (Personal Independence Payments). I cried when they sent me a letter saying I wasn't disabled enough to be able to get it, but I picked myself up, stopped the intrusive "commit suicide" thoughts, and appealed with a screenshot of my 1st MRI! 😈

Congratulations! I am so happy for you! I applied August 2022, and when I log in to check the status, it says I am 47% of the way to a decision. It also says it did not reach the state office until that November, and that it will take 300 days from that point. So, I keep dragging myself to work, in order to have health insurance. Maybe I will know something by fall of this year. Such is life! But big, big congrats to you!
