Greetings everyone!

So is it true the TN attack does NOT count as having a flare or relapse?

Hi there, As far as I am aware, TN can happen at anytime anywhere. I have PPMS so I don’t have relapses, and I have found that just brushing your teeth or washing your face in the shower with a flannel can trigger it. So I am sorry if you are suffering. I don’t have any magic answers for you, if you find something that works, let us know, blessings Jimeka 🤗

Thank you so much for replying. Right now I am doing 100mg of Gabapentin 3 times a day, Baclofen, heating pad periodically, and a lidocaine max strength aspercreme. I also have an appointment with a neurosurgeon on 4/27. He is going to do glycerol rhizotomy through a needle going through my cheek. I will be sedated and it’s supposed to block nerve pain for 5 to 10 years. I hope for the best, obviously.

And I almost forgot to mention Tylenol extra strength and naproxen for pain relief.

Tegretol was my go to for TN but that became less effective over the years and I had gamma knife surgery 👍

So the initial pain was awful. It always seems to come back with a vengeance. I ended up in the ER.

The initial pain is awful, especially as you are about to eat breakfast, something you never get used to unfortunately. I put microwave heat pads on my jaw. 😊
