Quiet thought

Though it is often described here, the word itself is rarely seen or heard. This morning, I ponder the courage required to live with MS.

We live each day with the indignities inflicted on us by MS, yet we hold our heads high. We live each day with the myriad failures of our bodies in great and small ways, yet we continue. When others fail to hear our voices, we sing in chorus here. When MS causes us to stumble and fall, we rise again and again and again. When MS humiliates us in puzzling or troubling ways, we find a focus outside ourselves. We learn new ways of moving, of thinking, of doing, of being. We share our gifts, our talents, our hearts. And though many of us would not describe ourselves as warriors, and reject warlike descriptions of our individual, unique, everyday struggles, each and every one of us has courage, for it takes great spirit and immense courage to start each day facing the betrayals of MS. Well done, each and every one of you.

Dear goatgal , inspiring. I have been thinking about this idea of rising over and over again from the humiliations of MS. from the attack of my body against itself but you put it into words so powerfully. Rising with courage and spirit and I would add determination. Beautiful.
