I've had RLS for several years but didn't know it was so painful. Do any of you know what causes these spasms? Horrible! Pls let me know if you have any ideas. I also have MS but it's never been painful. Thanks, Marilyn

Dear Ikeeptrying thanks for sharing this. It happens to me. I used to say I don't know what I'd do if MS became painful. Now i do things like stretch and discovered some foods make my legs spasm. they are in the general categories of dairy, flour, sugar. then there are other food allergies at least for me. wishing you well.

Dear Sandy,

Thank you so much for your reply. It;s fantastic that you found something that works for you. Just back from physical therapy. I was telling the PT about the pains and she went and got "her spine" and showed me where the nerves coming from the lower spine are aggravated from arthritis. So, mystery solved. T'wasn't MS at all but nasty arthritis of which I have a bunch. Good to know. Now if there was just a cure for arthritis...

Ikeeptrying Dear Marilyn, i had to make a few changes to get rid of spasms. you could try some of them and see if there is any improvement: One is dehydration. My husband has arthritis and drinking water helps his spasms (and mine) I went from one bottle of water (23 oz) to 2 bottles. it helps a lot. Give it a try and let us know if it helps.

Hi Sandy, I will definitely try drinking more water. I'm sure it helps. I don't drink enough water for sure. Maybe because it causes me to pee a lot. It's a lot of trouble to pee since I'm not mobile. But that's OK, keeps me on my feet, lol. I'll let you know how it goes.
