Moving Hailey’s stuff to Witchita for college
Take frequent breaks and stay hydrated! Congrats to Hailey!
Well done Hailey. What will she be studying? Rest as much as you can on the journey. 🤗
Congrats! An exciting new chapter
Congrats! And good for her studying pre-med! She sure isn’t choosing an easy road! My niece followed the same path and after 10 years of post grad work, (med school etc.), she is in her first year as a full MD.
I remember dropping off my daughter for her freshman year. It was a right of passage for both of us. I had such mixed feelings! The memory of those feelings is still strong even though it was 15 years ago.
Hailey wants to be a child psychologist. Hannah is starting her 3rd year at Midland University in Nebraska. She is double-majoring in history & communication studies & minoring in politics & citizenship (why?😂). She was chosen to be a Student Intern for the Senator of Nebraska (Ben Sasse) in Omaha. She wants to go into public relations. (why?😂). Kalli is a HS sophomore this year and will likely be an art major.
I hope my story makes you feel a little better!
I knew my daughter would follow some sort of liberal arts major and I was resigned to that. I told her to follow her passions and find her own path and she did! It mattered zero to me which liberal arts degree she got because the universe treats them all the same for the most part. Well she majored in theater arts of all things and minored in comparative history of ideas. 🙄 (I still roll my eyes.)
But she hit the ground running, working multiple jobs to support herself in the most expensive city in the U.S. 10 years later, she is still there and has a successful career. She doesn’t work in the theater industry but her studies, her internships and an awesome job for pocket money in college all paved the way to where she is now.
My daughter’s story is proof that you never know where something might lead. Even crazy college degrees that don’t seem to have much value in the work world!
I went with my son to tour LSU earlier this month (he’s a senior) and it was a campus walking tour. My husband pushed me qround in a wheelchair and it worked out great.
Congratulations to you on the new collegiate student!
