He has been the most kind and caring of my providers. The most reliable, and most straight forward, of all of my healthcare, entities. Absolutely NO BS from him when he was letting me know his analysis of any blood test or MRI he order for me.
That man dramatically changed my life.
He wouldn't put up with my whining about why I hadn't bothered t o get any kind of Treatment. for. a. serious disease I'd struggled with for 25 Years. He. Put me on. a DMT that finally allowed me. to experience my biggest. Triggers. For. The. ramifications. of the disease, without facing more and. more of my. ability turning. Into. disability.
Yeah, I received. a. letter. today. saying. that. neurology. appointment. I had in December, the. one. I. said. was the. Most. FUN neurology appointment EVER! was. the. last. appointment I will have with my. neurologist.
He. is. leaving. the. MS clinic to. devote more nof. his. time. to. his primary. Love: pediatric neurology.
So, I have. no. idea. Who. I. see next. Month.

I'm really not surprised in a way. I was talking to a fellow patient once, who said our Dr. was actually a pediatric neurologist under his private practice. And after that appointment I had with him in December, I left thinking he must've been a fantastic pediatric neurologist! Rather than terrorizing a child, that child would leave loving him for making the experience fun!
I understand. My first MS neurologist, who I just loved, retired but a new MS neurologist took over his practice. It has been 7 yrs now and he is very good. And great bedside manners and always helpful. Ask for a referral from the one who is changing his practice. Hopefully he will find you a good one as well. Good luckl
Sorry. I've been using my tablet and it looks like words are being run together, so I've been doingn2 spaces between words. But, it automatically puts a period at the end of every word. I hate devices!
The best doctors do seem to burn out or seek better placements, leaving many of us in the care of good clinicians with mediocre social skills. You have my best wishes for a good outcome with who ever replaces your best doctor.
I am so sorry, and I hope you get a good one! It takes a while to know, and to train them, and when you get a really good one and they leave you for their true love, it's hard to deal with! Mine tried to leave me a couple of years ago, but I tracked her down like I was a Beagle and she was a rabbit!
Found her, got my appointment, and been seeing her ever since! I hope your new Neuro is awesome! Linda
oh wow isn't it the good ones that go on but he wants to try to stop it maybe before it gets really bad for the children ...maybe he will be all of our hero's that change the course of this thing they all call MS...i know it is a dream but ha we need to once in awhile for it to come true for all ....so sorry your using a good doctor they are hard to come by with this junk...MS is what i am talking about the junk ...ahhahaha...did he give you a good doctor to take his place ...sure hope so...love and happiness...
I had also lost my best neurologist.. and they replaced him with an uncaring, un personable dr.. so I left her, and found another dr that had stuidied under my GREAT dr..lucky for me
I get it. My GP that got me through all the adoptions and their health issues and had been my doctor for YEARS went to do something else a couple years ago. I was devastated. The guy I have now is okay but he is young and doesn't get me as well. The last one was a friend to me and my family and helped us through so much. I still miss him.
This was the doctor I based my insurance on. I mean, every November, I have to choose my insurance, and I do it based on who covers my Aubagio, and who covers my doctors, with my neurologist being the most important one. I'll sacrifice a cardiologist or a pulmnologist. Not my neurologist! That just won't be the case this November
So, I guess it is only appropriate that my favorite TV show, New Amsterdam, lost my favorite character: Vjay--the neurologist!
