Hopefully you can get those good times thawed out!
Happy Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday! (I also have Fat Wedsnday, and Fat Thrusday, and Fat Friday...)
I just know after I make the Shrimp Etuffee or Jambalaya tonight, I'll be fatter!

Can I let the good times roll any other time off the year or is it just for Mardi gras or Fat Tuesday
By the way what is Fat Tuesday?
Mardi Gras or also known as Fat Tuesday, is the day ya can eat all ya want, drink all ya want, ehem all ya want, because ya gotta straighten up and fly right for the next 40 days. You can certainly let good times roll any time. But you might want to roll extra on the Tuesday before Ash wednsday for all the self-saceificing you are supposed to do for Lent.
We have Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. 👍
So do you make Gumbo too? I've never made it before. I watched a cooking show today that had, what looked like a really good recipe. Of course, my husband would never eat it since it had shrimp in it. He won't eat anything that "swims in the water it pees in" 😕
Oh! I've made gumbo, fortunately NOT using my grandmother's recipe, LOL! I use one from Justin Wilson. I also use his jambalaya recipe. Now, I've never met a shrimp I didn't like! That's inspite a riend once calling shrimp sea cockroaches. ;P One of my favoritemeals I make is New Orleans BBQ Shrimp. It's an ironic name for a dish as the shrimp isn't barbequed or grilled. The shrimp is really just sauteed. And nor is the sauce anything like a traditional bbq sauce. It is a spicy, rich butter roux, It is sooooooo good!
We call it Fasnacht day
