If you do? Who do you use? What do you wear? How does it work? Which is the best in your opinion?
I'm breaking down and getting one. That says allergic to steroids! ππ
I'm not doing this again! ππ€ππ

My husband gave me a gold ID style bracelet which I rarely wear as I was starting to think my name was TYPE 1 DIABETIC.π
He bought that at a local jewelers.
There is a symbol on them that would alert a medic to whatever medical condition you have.
I have always wondered though, if they always look for them.
If I was still taking solo road trips, I'd be wearing it. because if I passed out from a low blood sugar, they'd know what to do.
They make sense as you never know what can happen.
First responders and hospital personnel do look for medical jewelry. There is also a great site on Etsy for medical alerts that go on the seatbelt of your car. Very inexpensive - about $15 and they can be embroidered with anything you need. My husband's said ALS - nonverbal. Mine just says medical alert. There is a pocket inside for you to put a medical history. They can be made for any medical issue - non-hearing, autism, diabetes, non-verbal, seizures, etc.
This is the link to the one I use. There are several other vendors now.
I don't wear one but I have been thinking of getting one, Jesmcd2
I believe that CalfeeChick posted about a medical bracelet perhaps 1+ years ago?

Yes, Road ID with blood type, ms info D.O.B. has come in really handy at the outdoor mall before Christmas
I'm supposed to always wear my medical bracelet that tells people that I'm allergic to Amoxicillin/Penicillin, but my parents got it for me years ago and it's this big, ugly, clunky thing... So this is a good reminder for me to order a new one that I'll actually wear! π
I'm supposed to wear one because I'm on warfarin, but I never have. You can do an online search; you can find some nice looking pieces in silver or gold. I'm a big believer in wearing only nice jewelry!
yes i have a necklace i changed the chain from 18 inch chain that says ms,my name and contact hubby,to a 22 inch so i can wear it inside my clothes
I wear a medical bracelet by MedicAlert. They are personalized and have a number that medical personnel can call for a full history. I have an interesting (ridiculous) medical history and a long list of drug (and other) allergies. I've been with MedicAlert for about 35 years. Love them. I also keep a single page medical history summary in my wallet where it can be easily found. I am a nurse and was a firefighter/medic for many year before. We always looked for medical jewelry.
I wear a necklace. It lists my conditions and has my husbands phone number. It refers them to my phone for a med list. Cell phones have a emergency button anyone can access. Weβve been trying to educate local emt department to check phones.
Wait... What? StacyHayward ? More information is needed about this please!!??π€ππ
I think all cell phones have a medical id built in. On iPhones and I think androids, if I pick up anyoneβs phone thereβs an emergency link (button) on the screen. Touching this link takes them to my medical id even without access to the rest of phone.
I know thatβs super confusing. My husband says you have to set it up, but I donβt remember doing so.
So iPhones come with a health app. It has a heart. When I go into that app I can enter my medical info. Then I can allow emergency access from a locked screen. That way anyone can access the medical in an emergency without needing my code to the phone.
I believe androids have a similar feature but I donβt have an android to check.
π€£π€£ I have it, but I always thought π it called 911 it still might... I'm not touching it!!!ππ
don't have one but it does make cense to wear one for we are not a bunch of drunks...ahahha...love ya all ...take care and hope to never need them ...
I've worn the same Medic Alert bracelet since 1981. There were a couple of changes in the information over the years. It says "Diabetes--not on insulin--multiple sclerosis" and gives my blood type.
Just a few months ago I added a Medical Guardian wristband but that's a different sort of thing. It's a button I can press if I need help.
I don't see the point of wearing jewelry with any medical information absolutely. First of all, because everyone has a driver's license or ID. These documents should always be with you. In case of an emergency, you should be identified. Hospitals have a database that has all the medical records. And if you just come to see the doctor, you still fill out a form to give the necessary information. My friend gave her mother mary necklace with crucifix gloriajewels.com/ to a jeweler to have the information engraved on the back of her jewelry. It seems to me like a waste of time and money.
Hi kintehat how are you doing? And have to say that not everyone has a driver's license or ID. Cause I don't!π€£ππ€£ And idc π€£ My mother got me a sashka.com bracelet with MS on it. But they never look, it's more jewelry than anything else!βΊοΈ
The necklace might have been a way to make them both feel better? They are beautiful!!!

I donβt wear anything, but I have listed my diagnosis, medication, and abnormal exam findings on my phone just in case.
