Hope you get a kick out of this:
Soon after my MS diagnosis, I bought "The Multiple Sclerosis Diet Book" by Roy Swank and Barbara Dugan. It was originally published in 1977. My neurologist emphasized having a healthy diet, so I got this book in the hopes that it would provide me with food ideas and recipes that would allow me to be as healthy as possible under the circumstances.
But, man, it provided me with so much more! Just the highlighted line in particular was enough to make me laugh hysterically: MS patients "are usually attractive." I mean, there I was- terrified of this incurable, debilitating disease... thinking my whole life would be changing for the worst... and BAM! Only hotties get this disease??! WOW!
So, if you are ever feeling unattractive or schlubby, don't fret. You're a beautiful, gorgeous, majestic specimen of a human being. It has been written, so shall it be. Now I'm off to skip around my living room in my pajamas, singing, "I feel prettyyyyyy! Oh so prettyyyyyy!!"
