How funny! Thank you.
he looks like the rest of us
It's a patient pup that will put up with that! But on a more sobering note, some tigers in the Bronx zoo somehow became infected with the COVID 19 virus, and if vets and doctors can understand how and investigation proves it, this virus may be scarier than we thought...if it can go back and forth between humans and other mammals.
I saw something about the tigers getting infected. Haven't seen much on it since. Please keep us updated if you see an update on it.
I'm surprised that there is so little information about the tiger's positive tests...because it's the most frightening aspect of this pandemic if true. Because if the virus came from one animal species (bats?) to humans and now to a different species (tigers), that means it is capable of mutating rather rapidly and may be with us permanently.
I heard something on the news that it may be with us, long after this is over. Everything is evolving and changing so quick. It could have come from a sick handler or vet as well. Just don't know much yet.
The Bronx Zoo has announced that it came from an asymptomatic keeper. For those of us with furbabies, this was worrisome. They had told us that our pets were safe and could not get the virus from us. The news here interviewed a vet from the big Animal Medical Center in Manhattan and she said that if we were infected, we had to protect our pets from getting the virus from us. Meaning no kissing our pets, no sharing food with them, no letting them sleep in our beds with us, and always washing hands before touching them! Wow, all opposite of the way most of are with our furbabies! The vet did say that felines are prone to respiratory infections and more likely to catch them from us than dogs are. All around, this is one scary virus. My husband got it, I got it from him. We are both on the mend but not 100% yet. Stay safe and healthy!!
Oh my, so much information here. Thank you. First of all, what good news that you and your husband are recovering. This virus is lethal to far too many good souls, and imposes an awful manner of death, a lonely and slow suffocation. On so many levels, I am glad you escaped and now (probably) have immunity. As for the asymptomatic transmission between humans and big cats: worrisome, to say the least.
Cute...π
