Good Morning my ms family, as always I hope “YOU” slept well and are well rested. Ready for another week in these crazy times. I know full well “YOU” are not fretting about our latest crazy Chinese disease. It seems to happen every few years and this one is no exception.

No, “YOU” should be concentrating on our serious issue. Doing that “YOU” need to do to stabilize your life and adjust to your new normal. That does mean taking a Disease Modifying Therapy (DMT). I understand that some of them involve needles. I am the worlds biggest needle phobe. I have a truly irrational fear of needles, BUT I suffered an every other day needle in the butt from my Mother for years. If I can, believe me “YOU” most certainly can as well.

Beyond DMT, there are many other techniques that can be learned , so that “YOU” can improve your life with this illness. Reading or listening (audible.com) is a great asset to have. Listen to a good book, one that “YOU” would never listen to under normal circumstances. “YOU” like me are not exactly normal anymore, whatever normal is. We, “YOU” and I are different. Our life has taken a very unexpected and unwished for sharp turn to the left. It is up to us to quickly adjust to this and start living our very own new normal. I will tell “YOU” that once “YOU” have adjusted “YOU” can expect it to change. That is the nature of this illness, it changes, and it does so at the most inconvenient of moments.

So, expect that for a long time, even taking the strongest for DMT that your ms may constantly be changing your life. Have very fluid and flexible dreams, but do have dreams. Do not dream of a cure, that is beyond our control. Dream of something that “YOU” can control. Dream of making your life one that “YOU” want to live in and one that “YOU” enjoy. We all have many years with this illness, why do “YOU” not make them years that “YOU” enjoy?

With all the silliness going on, remember that “YOU” have a lifelong incurable illness. 100% guaranteed, no if ands or buts about it. Concentrate yourself on the big picture. Do not let circumstances distract “YOU. At least not too much or for too long..

Royce (your ms writer)

Be calm, be careful, and smile. Enjoy, this your life
