Greetings to everyone from a little scouse villiage in England.
Well, I have an appointment with a movement disorder specialist tomorrow and have a feeling it really won’t be great?
Hey ho....But the Walton Centre serve fabulous chips and gravy...
So to distract myself further , I just wanted to share some good news with you
The eggs my big snails laid, hatched!
Yes I now have two of the tiniest baby snails ever
I don’t think I have ever seen anything so small !
Now I’m thinkin of calling the v little one Pearl, because that’s what she looks like...and the minuscule one Diddy ?!
I have posted this video onto YouTube, but didn’t want to get into trouble here / be accused of a Spammer
Thank you kind and funny people for always being here, you are the very best MS support group on the whole Internet…(I think a lot actually do more harm than good, mentioning no names)... but not you guys!
Thank you all so much everyone, Ure all so kind and supportive, I know the mollusks are a bit er unusual
And Hi Janet from lancs, I’m by Chester? Nice to meet you!
And it’s nice to know I am not the only one who finds the snails cute - but yes I don’t think it’s a common pet! Er at all!
I couldn’t manage my cat anymore and I watched the film Turbo (about a snail) with my son, and thought - let’s do snails races ! (It was fun, but it didn’t go well because all they wanted to do is er hug each other!)
I became really attached to the ones we got very quickly, not realising; as most people don’t obs, that snails seem to have individual personalities and foibles just like every other critter !
...And are very peaceful and chilled, and mesmerising to watch ... who’d have thought? The humble garden slimy leaf munching snail.... I swear they even react to the music.
And taking our minds off the loss of the damn cat
The teenagers Finn and Sophie; are still very small and don’t seem to have grown much, or got used to their heavy shell. That means that the older ones must be years old?! I am so interested to see how all the little ones grow; and the newborns !
I bowled over by how small the newborns are, (they are laid as an egg and then that becomes their shell FYI)
I never realised that they were born and hatch so small. And yes, I did mistake them for specks of muck - but then my eyesight ain’t so good..
They big ones must have took so long to get to be big boys, like uncle fester – who crawled onto my fingers; and you know what, I didn’t mind, and it wasn’t cold or slimy, it was like being stroked.. I love that little fella!
Hmm as for the neurologist, well yes; everythin is failing quite rapidly of late, and she was surprised and said I was now severely ataxic. (No kiddin Sherlock)
. She laughed when I suggested it might be more than ms and ataxia, MSA perhaps?
Haha she said of all the scary neurological things it could be and you pick msa?! Are you not worried it’s somethin worse ....?!
She said that an mri will tell her more and ordered one and that in the meantime, she would put me on beta-blockers - as long as blood pressure ok. She sent me off for bloods and blood pressure there and then.
My bp ‘dangerously low’ apparently. So no beta blockers for me at the moment
She suggested certriline for my anxiety and tears (A frustrated tear or two escaped when I couldn’t do any of her tests) and she told me not to look at the side effects; and made me promise I would give it a go and take it
Arg I’m sick of being sick, I’m sick of it all ...but hey ho thank Jesus, Mary and the little donkey that took them to Bethlehem for the snails and for all u good, wise, kind people here x
I’ve not been feeling great since - but let’s not go there...I’ll end with Uncle Fester and I, he’s a wise one.( and about 1000 times bigger than the tiny babas ... I’m still thinkin Diddy and Pearl - (P-Diddy lol ! ) ain’t nature amazing ...
