good tip for holiday shopping for next year

I heard this on the news,good tip not to go in debt!They said to buy 1 gift card per month through the year at the stores you would like to shop for the person you are gifting.then during the holidays either give them the gift card or shop for them yourself either on line or in the store using the gift card.All mine will probably be amazon.I never stepped in a retail store this year!

I am pretty fortunate that I just have my 26 year old son to buy for. Have always bought things early so don’t have to deal with crazy 😜 crowds. My wife always bought after Christmas sale items for next year, worked out great and saved $. Jody and I didn’t do Christmas for each other we just put the money 💴 away and every three years went on a vacation 👍. Hope you have a great day 🙏😉 Ken 🐾🐾

I am not a big shopper,honest!hate shopping.When you have those precious grandkids,it's funny your own kids drop down on the shopping list.it really is all about the grandkids.I did learn a lesson this year,I bought my 89 year old father a sweater this year to stay warm,he did say "don't buy me anything else,how much do I need at this age?"so here on in I will buy him food gifts only for birthdays ,etc. that way it won't overwhelm him.

Brilliant idea, especially when we make sure they aren't cards that lose value over time. I'm so glad you mentioned this! Sounds like a great plan that I can do!

We generally get things from Amazon. I refuse to go out with the crazy crowds. UPS and FedX always come to my work in the AM when I am there so we just have things shipped there to avoid porch pirates. I think the only thing we went into a store for was Kohl's to get a couple sweaters for my daughter. Then my husband found a winter jacket on sale that he liked so he bought that. We were offered 35% off if we opened a Kohl's card. We did, got the bill and paid it, then cut up the card! So all was on sale, then an add'l 35% off, then we got a $20 Kohl's money coupon. I went back before that expired and found some pants that I paid $9 for because of the free $20. All in all that trip didn't cost much!

That's a really good idea pamgarner !! Never thought of that! All my shopping is done on Amazon tho for the grandkids! It gets to be to much anymore for everyone else 😕🤗💕🎁
