Started a Spanish for Beginners course 2 months ago. Fun to be back in a class setting on Tuesday evenings. So here are the first fruits of learning a new language:

Feliz Navidad y Feliz Ano Nuevo!

Sorry, I don't know how to do the tilde over the n. Maybe somebody in the international community (or an IT person) can tell me how to fix this...

Way to go! Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you, too!

Buon natale e buon anno nuovo! Auguri!! There it is in Italian. Very close to Spanish.

As for the tild or accent over letters, in Italian you can use the approstophe next to the letter that the tild is supposed to be over. For example "is" in Italian is written e' which is not to be confused with "e" which translates to English as "and". Not sure if that works for Spanish as well.

Wait, wait there are only so many languages that I can handle at the same time. But copying I can do: buon natale to you too!

I think if you hold down the n you can add the tilde. Ń

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too! Here is a site for the Spanish special characters - you can use your keyboard to type here otherwise - spanish.typeit.org/ (typeit.org has special characters for all the languages).

ur doing better than I did when I tried to learn. Instead of speaking Spanish I kept speaking french the 1st class. Then I couldn't do it because it was hard for me because I found it to be at it was going against proper English grammar. The teacher told us a lot of people have a hard time because its considered improper grammer

Yeah, I took 4-1/2 years of Spanish, worked in Mexico for several years, and I can't even say I stunk in Spanish. I take to languages like no requerdo? I do know un tornillo is a screw, remanche a rivet, desarmador a screwdriver, and Feliz Navidad? When someone asks me if I speak Spanish, I answer un poco. But really, that's about it? I used to know how to conjugate in every way. Past, present, future.........yeah now, it's all in the past. How did I become such un Jefe y Engenerio for a fortune 500 company in Mexico? Yeah, how many mistakes have I made in this post already? And how to put those fancy symbols over the n's, and the upside down question marks before the question? I used to do those on the keyboard.......even though my days of attempting to speak Spanglish in Mexico, were of the days when if you wanted to used a personal computer, you had to know programming. I did then too! Several computer languages. Now, nada. Wish you well. Languages and I, yeah, I'll stick to fishing for pescados?

I’ll let you know how I’m doing in a year or two with my Spanish... I can tell that it’s slow going already, particularly when it comes to grammar. The grey matter is challenged for sure!
