I was sick with gastroenteritis. When I got home from the hospital the very next morning my legs stop working. I couldn't walk so I went to the ER like my doctor told me to and ended up in the hospital again. I finally got a tingling sensation in my legs after 3 days of steroids and they sent me home. That night my left leg lost all feeling again. I have pt and ot coming to my house 2 days a week. This is the first time I have not been able to walk and now I am having to learn to walk again because my legs won't cooperate and walk when I want to. Does anyone else have this problem?

not walking
I hope it turns out to be a temporary step back, nothing permanent. Blessings Jimeka 🤗
I had that problem in January. I walked down 13 steps when I got to the bottom my legs gave out completely. Was on my way to pcp before this even happened ( I was carried to the car by 3 people taken out the car at dr office n put in a wheelchair by 2 people) dr just looked at me like I was stupid she sent me home with steroid pills.( yes I have a new pcp. I was already trying to leave her b4 this happened) I had patient portal my neuro that same day, the next morning I could walk but my neuro told me to go immediately to the er. I was admitted that day I lost my legs while on my way to the er a 5min ride.
I spent 7 days getting iv infusion of steroids for 24hr , I was on lock down in the bed the entire time. Once it was determined the steroids did their job I was taken to inpatient rehab for 7 days where I had pt, ot, and sp everyday. Then I was releases to outpatient rehab I was there for 9 wks doing pt,ot, and sp rehab 3x's a wk
This happened to me after months of eye drops followed by glaucoma surgery, followed by months of steroid eye drops. It's been 2 years, and I still have not regained my ability to walk without assistance. I am sure it happens to us because of our MS, but the medication they administer in the hospital causes it. Since I stopped the eye drops, at least I have not been bed-ridden.
Like jimeka said, I sure hope that this is temporary, and that you will regain your mobility, mbrooks20 ~ soon!
