Hi honey Iβm ok plodding on as usual just come back from Sainsburys, a complete tosser in the car park nearly rammed me up the back! Thankfully the car park dude saw it all xxxxx I really donβt know how some people pass the driving test! Hope ur ok and u managed the walk xxxxxx
Well, you would've found me up. My old pup Maggie, needs to go out about that time every morning...which means, I too get up. And since she's a creature of habit, when she comes in, she's ready for her breakfast. Though she goes back to sleep afterwards, I don't /can't. Here's what I have to do today: move 150# of hen feed to the shed, finish a batch of pickles, make two more loaves of zucchini bread and then think about doing my exercises (and maybe do them) so I don't lie to PT when he asks if I have been doing them. I made 7 pints of bread and butter pickles Friday, another batch today, and then I'll start on dill spears with the remaining cukes. Tomorrow, another friend is giving me a dozen ears of corn for corn relish. When gardeners share their bounty, I feel honor bound to thank them! Until I manage to trap and eliminate all the meadow mice and field mice that came up into my raised beds, I can grow only those plants they don't like. Here's that short list of veggies they spurn: garlic, onions, oregano, sage, tomatoes. Here's what they decimated: carrots, leeks, chard, beans, beets, cabbages. This winter, I have to empty out the raised bed boxes, tip them over, and wire the bottoms before refilling. It's too daunting a task to think about until the weather changes. Now to get out and move that feed before the temp hits 80. I'll post separately about PT's effect on my balance, gait, and recovery.
I said nothing about speed. Here's how I do it: I keep a flat nursery wagon on the porch, take it down the ramp to the back of my little suv, drag one bag out of the trunk onto the wagon, haul the wagon to the shed, go into the shed, get the saucer with tow rope out, push that down the ramp there, wrestle the feed sack onto the saucer, go up the steps into the shed, grab the tow rope, pull the 50# up the ramp, wrestle the bag into position against the wall, and repeat for two more. It's why I don't feel as if I have lied when the PTist asks me if I did my exercises. Now I am sipping my cold coffee and getting ready to heat the water kettle for the pickles. But notice that I haven't started that yet!
I need to keep moving. Perhaps it is fear that if I stop I won't be able to get going again. But it's not long bursts of energy anymore. I do a job, then rest a bit, then do the next short job. Little by little...
Yay! Great job shark-lady! Keep it up, but don't overdo, just to the limits, I always say! I too walked w/ my art-class last week & that was about 2 miles, now my legs are getting used to it after the soreness! We Lπve ya! JazzyπΉπ
