Hello, I am new to the group, but not new to MS. I have had MS for 29 years and have done relatively well. MS has opened doors that I had never dreamed about. MS has allowed to get to know people that would not have otherwise met. MS has allowed to serve people for whom I would have not had the opportunity to serve. MS provided for me doctoral dissertation topic on coping with chronic illness. When I was first diagnosed with MS and someone at church services said that she was going to pray that I not have MS. I replied, "I have MS and God allow me to bless people because of my MS.
When I was diagnosed there were no medications to provide hope for people with MS. Today there are several to choose from. I am thankful for that. I am thankful to lessons that MS has taught me. I no longer take seeing a beautiful flower for granted, as I did before. Because of MS, I have lost part of my vision, so I no longer take my vision for granted. Yes, I have had to make adjustments to my life. No, I don't know how everything is going to turn out, but that is alright. God has blessed me and He will continue to bless me.
