This is great!

Iona60 I thought so too! A friend sent it to me after I ranted about how long this ankle has taken to heal, including my dismay at perceived indifference from the surgeon...and it seemed too good not to share more widely.

He would be more understanding if it was his ankle.

Hilarious 😆

ZCmser Isn't amazing how timely and appropriate many of these Elizabethan insults are for today's world! Next time the power company fails to estimate when the heat will come back on, or someone fails to keep an appointment...just thinking some of these will help me calm down.

Love it. I certainly could use some of those on the medical fraternity here in the U.K. The only one I wouldn’t use, would be wagtail, as I love watching the wagtails picking grubs out of the soil and puddles, keep us updated re your ankle, Blessings Jimeka 🤗

goatgal This is entertaining! Let me see what I can come up with ~ Thou lack-luster, no bed-side-manner charlatan! Is that too harsh? :-D

carolek572 The next time some ride service fails to come at the appointed time for Jesmcd2 she can insult the scheduler as "thou villainous flap-mouthed jolthead" and leave him speechless or, better yet, we could brainstorm to come up with additional contemporary descriptors. Perhaps in Jes' case, "you turnip nosed dumpster brained excuse for a human". I dunno, most folks would be more creative than I.

You have my creative juices flowing. However, we should all strive to make these Elizabethan insults sound so nice that the recipients would think that they were compliments ~ as your examples almost do! So much fun we could all have! I do think that another post is in order here... :-D

I love this, even if I can never say them to anyone and keep any relationships. I have a whole book of Shakespearean insults. It's fun to look at every once in a while!

Thank You! I'm sure I can find ways to put these lists to good use
