Just read about this drug. It really sounds promising. Has anyone here heard of it?

It's for SPMS and maybe more conditions, here's a link. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the links. I've got a message in for my neuro. I wonder what he'll say.

Just read the results of the studies referenced in the links. Not that great I guess.

I was part of the Clinical trial. It is a drug that has been used in Japan for many years for asthma . They are evaluating it in the us for PPMS measuring brain atrophy as the primary measure. Phase 2 was just completed with OK results. There will need to be a phase 3 trial before it’s every submitted to FDA for approval. Because it is a drug did already used, FDA approval should go quickly If the phase 3 results are positive. The phase 3 trial will most likely be two years and probably won’t start for a year so realistically we are looking at 3 to 5 years for availability at the earliest.

Were you able to tell if it helped you or not? OK results don't sound too exciting though. Guess I won't hold my breath. But still, I'm hopeful, if I live long enough for it to be approved. I'm pretty old. I sure appreciate your remarks. Thank you so much for responding.

Kenbloom,

Thanks for the info. How did you find out about that? Perhaps the internet?

Best Regards,

Leslie

Unfortunately I was on placebo so obviously no impact.

All clinical trials are posted at clinicaltrials.gov

According to the computer it's possible that it helps MS. It's on Phase 3trial and has been approved in Japan.

Leslie
