Hi, I am 33 years old and I finally won my disability case. Before and Now family and support groups through the state are treating me badly. So far they tell me that I don't need to drive nor go to school when I am trying to better myself. I just don't know anymore 😞

Why are MS patients treated badly
No one needs to drive or go to school. People drive because they desire to drive, and they go to school to better themselves. Do what you want to do. Just because we are sick with MS doesn't mean we're dead yet.
Thank you ! It's crazy I'm much brighter in my brain than most of my family and I'm not the only one in my family with MS . My oldest sister has MS too and she acts just like the others
That is sad that your sister acts like that towards you, especially with her having the same disease. We are all different in this disease but she should not treat you like that. I'm so very sorry that your family acts like that. Do what you want to. Congrats on the disability award!

You do what you want!!! I'm still battling my disability and my lawyers are still waiting for a hearing. 2years waiting. ❤🌷
Bwttwr yourself to make you be fulfilled because when it boils down to it you are important and you have to wake up with you every morning.

If u r able to drive - go for it. I dont drive long distances but still drive in and around my little town.
If u want to go to school- thats awesome! Screw what other people think or say. Thats their problem not yours. They need a hobby thats not YOU
Sounds to me like the family is a little bit jealous. After all you will be getting paid and getting insurance. You're not getting up and going to work every day and you will be going to school to learn to do something you want to do. It doesn't matter that you may be in pain all day or that your hands and feet are numb and that you are so tired you can barely put one foot in front of the other, that is if you are able to walk at all. Don't let them get you down. If you feel you can drive safely then drive. If you want to go to school then go to school. I went to cosmetology school & got my instructors license. I couldn't stand on my feet all day doing hair but I could teach a few days a week. So go ahead and better yourself. Find something that you can do that is useful and can help you contribute to society. You may be disabled but you aren't dead!
Angela3445, it's Fancy1959. Only you know what your capabilities are and what is best for you. If you're comfortable driving and youb have good Foot & Leg Mobility on your right leg and foot and feel comfortable driving then no one should be able to tell you you're not able. We always tend to judge our self harsher so judge yourself based on your performance and your comfortability behind the wheel. As far as going to school I believe those who neigh say your idea of bettering yourself are absolutely ignorant. It is never too late in life to better yourself as long as you feel you can and have the mental state where you can learn new material and expand your knowledge base.
Some people need to walk a mile in our shoes before they open their large mouths! It makes me very mad when people who have no idea what MS entails pretend they know what's best for those of us who fight this monster day in and day out! I'm so very glad you have found us and have people to speak to truly understand what you are going through because we go through it right alongside of you! Take care until we speak again and remember together we are stronger! Fancy.
