When I take a shower and sit on my bath chair and rub a dub dub then rinse ready to grab the towel and all if a sudden I cannot remember if I washed ...let's say the bottom of my feet or my elbows or whatever you get the picture. So I turn the water back on and do it again. This happens on a regular basis. Have I turned into a complete airhead? Does this happen to anyone else? Or do I stand I mean sit alone.
Just wondering
Hope y'all have a feel good Memorial Day and a very special thank you to all military service personnel you are very much appreciated for serving our country

I have no problem taking my pills in the morning or at dinner time. In between I use my phone as an alarm. I will pick it up, turn it off and put it down. I do not always remember to take the pill. I am always checking to see if I've taken my medication. Most of the time I have but sometimes not. I cannot remember what to do next when I'm cooking. And there's a lot of other times. However when I took the neuropsychological exam I scored real well for memory, though poor in processing speed.
I made my neuropsych do the tests while there were distractions. For example, they purposely had their phone go off. Otherwise it's not a real world test.
But those distractions weren't the same as me trying to write a prescription for a patient while a nurse was interrupting to tell me another patient down the hall was crashing.😬
Well an option in the shower would be to video tape myself.....Joking..no way in hel* would I put myself through the stress of me being naked and actually looking
KC0808, it's Fancy1959. First I'd like to officially walking into our extended family. I don't believe we spoken before as I've been fighting a nasty sinus infection and been sick for several weeks. Stupid head full of junk I've got just won't go away! I just wanted to make certain you knew you found some a wonderful chat room full of some of the kindest, most considerate, and caring people I have ever met. And it's such a wonderfully safe place to come and ask questions, voice concerns, or simply speak to others you're truly understand. This is what you finding out right now is we all go through similar things. Maybe I don't do it in the bathtub or in the shower but I do with other places sometimes half a dozen times a day. I'll have something in my hand and mean to throw the garbage away and I'll wind up setting it down. Sometimes it's the next day or even too when I come across a piece of trash again and think oh my goodness I said it down and forgot to throw away! It drives me nuts when I do stuff like that and is similar to what you're experiencing in the shower. Don't feel like you're the only person in this canoe trying to paddle Upstream without our paddle because we've lost it! LOL! Ask questions anytime you need because you will find out probably 9 times out of 10 that were all doing something very similar. That's what's so wonderful about speaking to others who truly understand what you're going through. I'm glad you found us and I look forward to speaking to you soon. Until we do please take care and remember that together we are stronger!
Thank you Fancy, sorry you been suffering with a sinus infection they are miserable infections that pretty much take forever to get completely rid of.
I do love this site being with people who really do "get it" and can respond with how they deal with the same problems I'm facing. I get really good suggestions which I will try. I'm like a sponge sucking up all the knowledge I can incorporate into my life.
So I thank you and every MS family member. Y'all are very special to me
One day I had stopped at the grocery store on my way home from work. By the time I got home from the store I had forgotten that I'd stopped at the store at all. Came out the next morning to go to work and saw a bunch of bags in my truck wondering how they'd gotten there. Ice cream melted all over the carpet. Butter pecan and another flavor i can't remember. Milk had to be tossed to. I still don't remember stopping at the store. This was when i was finally willing to admit i had a problem and people weren't just trying to mess with my head.
Right there with you. Now I'm just a little paranoid and question myself constantly which just makes me more tired...freaking MS just pisses me off (oops here I go speaking my mind).
This I will try, good idea thank you. I already talk to myself so I should have no problem talking a little more to me who doesn't argue because I will win regardless
Yes that happens to me regarding - did I wash my hair? My recent solution has been to talk out loud "hair done" & "body washed". If I find I forgot to say these words (you'd think I'd remember) I start over again! Hope this helps and have a safe holiday weekend.
You definitely don’t sit alone. I often can’t remember if I washed my hair or not. Trying a new strategy of moving the shampoo to a different spot after I wash my hair. Your video idea really made me laugh!! That would be scary!! Thanks for your shout out to the military. Linda
Oh my gosh, yes! It happens to me frequently and it drives me crazy!! Did I use conditioner?... Did I ever rinse it out? I have had to get back in the shower to complete certain tasks as these!😂😅 You are definitely not alone!!
You are most definitely not alone! 😂🤣I too have had this issue. My hair has probably been washed at least twice per shower. I have a lot of other issues with short term memory as well.
I think for me, I would laminate a list to hang in the shower with all the required locations listed. Just for laughs, I might even include a drawing with arrows.
Might as well have fun with it!
Good luck,
BTW, I always have some flush-able baby wipes around just for that fresh feeling.
Craig I think I have a really good idea I just need a financial backer
My idea have soap light up your skin you know like a fluorescent temporary glow that fades out within 15 minutes. That way ya know what ya washed and it would be fun you could purchase whatever color soap you want to light up your body. Damn this actually sounds like a good idea. OK someone that knows people pass this along just make sure MS research gets a percentage of profits so we can finally find the cure.
I don't have that problem when showering, but I have similar problem for other things, like did I take my supplements before I fell asleep. I do lay them out in a M-F pill box, one in am and one in PM, but sometime I can't remember till the next day. I forget if I have responded to someone. Sometimes I know what I am going to say to someone, but then days later I can't remember if I did.
This had me laughing because I saw myself. Yes, I do this too not only in the shower but also the laundry. Did I add the detergent or didn't I? Thanks for not letting me be alone on this one.
I do the same. I try to get into the same routine when I shower. I lather up really good and don't wash the soap off till I've scrubbed a dubbed dub all over my body. My problem is cooking. I'll put something into the oven and forget about it. So now I use a timer on my phone so I won't forget. There are other things my memory will do to me, just to remind me that MS does make a difference in my life. Sometimes I just have to laugh.
