It's beautiful spring weather here in Central California. We had our first 90* day yesterday and supposed to be around the same today. Can you tell, I've got my spring gardening excitement going full strength.😎😃🥀🌻💮 here's a combination picture of my Bouganvilla, Me wearing my MSAA cooling vest, and my amarylis. The blooms on the amarylis are usually about 5-6" across. They positively glow. Wish the blooms lasted longer, but they are like a sweet present when each bloom opens.

Flowers, What's blooming in your flower garden?
Beautiful. Here in the uk you can only grow amaryllis inside because of all the frosts. I nearly bought a bougainvillaea today but it has to be taken in during winter, again the frost will get it. Yours are beautiful, do they attract butterflies? 🦋 🍫
The snowdrops, crocuses, daffodils, tulips violets, Star of David, have all gone now, just lots of foliage left. The hosta’s are just starting to leave out, pulmonaria is in full bloom, as is the Solomon’s seal. Pharaohs eye is blooming, and the hellebores are hanging in. The lilac is out, and my hubby has just planted me a new red robin called Pink plush. It’s an ever green so there will be all round colour. As for vegetables, we have too many slugs, I dislike having to use slug pellets but it’s the only way of controlling them and snails. I have tried all the humane treatment so I gave up, so now it’s flower gardening. 🦋 🌷
From what I’ve seen your flowers 🌺 are fabulous! I tried pouring Salt on slugs, but that seemed cruel and the dead ones attracted ants. Never ending battle. I’m afraid to use other pellets, etc fearfulof hurting the kitty 🐱😊💕my new little veggie garden will only be 4’x4’, I’m going to surround with marigolds, I’ve heard they keep away snails and slugs. 🌺🍇🦋🌈
They are beautiful you must be very proud of your garden- I noticed you mentioned snails if you are able to obtain some sawdust from a cabinet maker or a local sawmill
Snails dislike sawdust- if they are really bad you may have to sprinkle a line around your plants if that doesn't work make a line of it around the outside of your garden bed they won't go anywhere near it.
They do attract butterflies 🦋 and hummingbirds. For about 10 years, my husband would cover the bougainvillea with a heavy painters drop cloth. Clipped cloth to rain cutters with huge clips, finally got tired of doing that this last winter and it survived! I’m guessing it finally grew a healthy root ball that helped it survive. I was fearful of hubby climbing on the ladder to put up the cloth too. The amaryllis are in a planter on my small porch. I’ve had them there for years. I do cover when we Have freezes because I’ve other plants in there that are More delicate.
Gorgeous flowers! My irises have just gotten started blooming this week!
Such beautiful flowers and you make that vest look great ~terry
Beautiful!
So pretty.
My tiger lily are doing the best. Everything is starting to come up-stunted from the long winter. Usually already split & trimmed by now. Finallly had rain so the grass is starting to recover from the snow mold.
