Two of these and right now they each have about 40 blooms. I just read I am supposed to be cutting off the blooms and putting in a vase and they will grow more. I definitely know more about MS than I do growing roses!!!

Jesmcd2 on the box of rose fertilizer by Miracle Gro. If wind blows them away, deadhead. But cut them and enjoy. So I cut 5 and put 1 red in the middle for our table. Only had 2 red ones!! Right now we are getting the full fury of the gulf weather - heavy rain and heavy winds and there probably won't be one left on the bushes!!
agapepilgrim , I hope you didn't suffer too much damage down there. We're thankful up here in north Texas for some much needed cooler temperatures and rain.
I need to get hubby to trim back my roses. Normally they're very prolific at this time of year, but right now they're bare. 😕😂
@Eleyne92 most of the petals are on the ground, a lot of limbs on the grounds, some areas hit worse than ours. Thankfully, we are on a slight hill. Some friends couldn't get to town, roads under water. A lot of creeks around us that flood easily. Had to bring in all my potted plants. Wind was blowing so hard all my cushions on front porch got soaked! Never happened before. I was sitting on porch in recliner enjoying the rain, and boom! wind blew so hard I was soaked in a second! Reminded me of my childhood days in Florida during hurricane weather. Tornadoes have hit all around us, but we have been very, very blessed, praise God!

Absolutely beautiful, blessings Jimeka 🦋 🌈 🥀
How pretty!
In addition to promoting more growth you have to dead head them or the plant will develop "rose hips" which are little round, green growths. They make good teas, I guess, but the plant stops putting out new blooms. I am sort of a rose freak! Those are beautiful!
I think that's true of many flowering plants, Hstrychick. If you deadhead before they set seed, you can fool them into producing more blooms. Once they have made seed pods, the plant's reproduction job is done, so it has no need to produce more flowers to form seed heads. Bless 'em, we do make them work hard ! : )) x
So beautiful!!
