Prayers for my daughter

My daughter had a nerve conduction test today. The neurologist who performed it told her she had demylenating neuropathy. She’s scared and confused. She’s hoping she’ll get a referral to a neurologist quickly for more complete testing and an interpretation of what this means.

I’ve reminded my daughter that it’s very early in the diagnosis process and that it could be quite benign. Right now she has areas of numbness on her legs which have spread on her legs. It’s always those unknowns that are frightening.

I don’t pray to a higher power, but I do place a lot of emphasis on surrounding yourself with caring people who can support you emotionally and physically.

It hurts my heart whenever I hear about someone else going through the pain of not knowing. I hope you will get some answers soon so you can make good decisions for treatment.

I wish there was more effort in the medical community to find the reason for this disease and develop a cure.

Unfortunately, it’s not one of the “sexy” diseases that get a lot of press.

I am thinking good thoughts for you and your daughter.

greaterexp I read this yesterday and thought I replied. Anyway, both your sister and your daughter are in my thoughts and prayers. As you know it is hard when family members have to deal with health issues. I am glad that my brother and sister don't have any health issues to deal with and if one of us had to have them I am glad for them that it is me. I keep you in my thoughts and prayers as well. It is bad enough to deal with our own kinda hell, but harder to watch loved ones have them as well. I'm sure it draws you, your daughter and sister closer together ~terry

You’re so thoughtful! Thank you. We got incredible news about my sister today. No pulmonary embolism! No heart issues. It’s thought that she had a somewhat severe problem with her cervical spine, which is no fun, but it sure beats what they thought she had!

Thank you for praying. My daughter was so touched at how many people are thinking of her and praying for her. She said she had a wonderful sense of peace today, which is not how I imagined she’d feel. She knows God never promised us freedom from trials, but promised to go through them with us.

I’m late to the prayer chain but I’m so glad to hear your sister did not have a PE. So scary!

How old is your daughter? I’m adding her to my mom’s prayer book that she inherited from her mom. My grandma would get up and pray and read the Bible early every morning until she ended up in hospice and passed away.

Just talking about it gives me a nice warm watched over feeling.

She's in her early 30's and her name is Erika. Thank you for spreading the prayer request. Can we ever have too many? I'm so grateful you have such a wonderful grandmother. What a treasure she must have been!
