Hi, what kind of pain pump did you get and what pain does it treat? I have chronic pain from severe arthritis in my feet. I have tried everything....i even fused one of my feet. I would love to know more about this pump, if you don't mind sharing.
It is a Medtronic pain pump and I use morphine in itπ It delivers 24 hours a day so you donβt have any delays covering pain π€ I also have a remote βptmβ that allows me to do a bolus shot every four hours if needed π€·πΌββοΈ I have two herniated disks, bulged disk, four bone spurs, MS pain both feet, left thigh, both hands, elbows, and neck. I am at a 3-4 on normal day and bad days I will do a bolus to keep me at this level π I donβt use any other pain medication π This was replacement of old one I have had for seven years. For me it has been great ππ€ππΎπ© Ken
Kenu what kind of pain do you have in your feet from MS? Nerve pain or muscle pain? How would you describe it. Iβm so tired of taking 5 different pain meds...wondering if pain pump might be good for me.
And so glad to hear the surgery went well and that Medtronic made sure you were well taken care of!
I had mine put in 4 months ago. I have stage 4 arthritis in both my knees and right foot. I hate this thing very much! I am struggling with worse pain now, then when I was on Norco and taking cortisone shots. Now the doctor wants to put in a spinal cord stimulator too. Iβm not crazy about risking another device in my body not working. How long does it take to find the right dose ? Iβm seriously thinking about having it turned off and going back to pain pills
Hope all goes well hun xxx πππ u deserve chocolate after that! π«π«π«π«π«
Yay! πππ glad it all went well!
What a great answer to prayer! Thanks for letting us know.
Kenu Glad the replacement went well and you are only a little sore and that they gave you meds to help with the pain. Rest to help with pain. Hopefully, the pain will ease with time.
Jessie
So glad that the surgery went well. I hope you heal quickly and the pump controls the pain!
Happy to hear all went well, Kenu . Praying the soreness goes away soon and the pump works perfectly too. π
Thanks to everyone π Little more swollen today and about 5 at surgery area. Doing good πππΎπ© Ken
So glad the replacement went so well!!!
Up date day two after surgery and swelling has gone down a little. Still sore at surgery area about a 4-5 with no pain pills π Hopefully on the heal π€·πΌββοΈπ Will update again. Thanks everyone ππππΎπ© Ken
I'm sorry to hear that. You are in my prayers!!!!
Was your pain pump done by your ortho/neuro or your pain clinic? I finally heard from the neuro I was referred to for the baclofen pump (7 weeks prior-not a good start) and the 1st available appt. is June 11th. I know the trial & insurance approval takes time. Of course my pain clinic said they could do it (after hearing I may be going somewhere else) which I knew would happen. Kept my cool. Concerned about the trial possibly being done by a pain dr. instead of neuroradiologist - was really hoping to meet with each of them to weigh my options. Still can but getting my pain/spacticity under control is the only possible glimmer of light of being able to attend nationals with my family this summer. -Kris
