Very interesting article. I studied the lymphatic system during my vet tech course, and the whole subject is fascinating. I wonder if it's possible that Ms patients have messed up lymphatic systems and that waste products actually get into the brain and potentially cause damage. I don't know if the Dura is a permeable or semipermeable membrane, but if the lymph system vessels are in fact in the Dura and remove waste from the brain then it seems to me that it has to be at least semipermeable. Maybe the answer lies in the dura rather than the brain. But what do I know?

Sukie427 i think selectively permeable to lipophilic substances.

There are so many factors that seem to be involved in causing MS and varying mechanisms to treat that it's dizzying. 😮

Interesting theory, erash . My mom survived a brain aneurysm years ago, only to have to undergo a second brain surgery when her nose started to run with a clear, salty substance. Yep, we still tease her today about her 'brain drain.' Gee...she might be able to tease me back. 😉 But joking aside, we do suffer some similar cognitive issues. Interesting. Thanks! 💕
