Welcome! ππΌ,
That must have felt terrible when you thought no one replied! If you go under your "account," you'll see that this is your first and only post, so far, so I think whatever you tried to send out originally did not make it out.
But this one did! We are so glad π you joined! I think you will have a very different experience now! Looking forward to getting to know you!!

Well you got everyone this time! Tell us something about yourself. Where are you from? Where are you in your battle with MS?
Sggmcswain
So sorry that the first post didn't go out!
Welcome to the group but sorry that you have MS.
Welcome to the group!
Hello you made it, so sorry your part of this group, the MS group that is. But this is the place to ask questions, vent about any thing but do remember we are not doctors.
Welcome! So sorry that you thought that we were ignoring you.
Sggmcswain , you're really here, and so are we! Welcome!
Welcome to the group. Lots of really great people here.
Welcome, Sggmcswain ! π
Welcome, you will find everyone to be understanding and supportive. Looking forward to getting to know you.
Well, Sggmcswain...A testament to your perserverance! Remember that and Welcome and commiserations!!
sggmcswain, Welcome! We would NEVER ignore a newbie! So glad you decided to join us - jump in anytime and offer your suggestions or ask questions.
Trying to Thank you all, not so good. Just got a lecture from my brother-in-law about being lazy and a layer. Said he was not going to help me anymore
He doesn't get the symptoms you have., like fatigue??- see if he is open to learning about it. Some people don't get what they can't see
Sounds like you need some support. You will find it here - we get it. I hope you can connect with friends and family that are at least willing to Google MS to learn about what you are experiencing. I have 1 brother who is concerned about me. My other siblings are kind of clueless and don't seem to care enough to even look into it. I think they're afraid I'm going to ask for help and it's going to cost them something. I just can't live in the stress of being around that or letting my mind dwell on it. We just have to do the best we can do on any given day and don't let the unbelievers get us down. Peace to you.

Hi Sggmcswain π
@Sggmcswain--Welcome!!
Hello! Welcome
Sggmcswaim Welcome! We're all glad you're online with us! This group is great with support and understanding of all our issues, whether anyone else is or not!
I have a question for all my friends. I have another UTI, on antibiotic, again, after just having one 8/11. Do any of the rest of you have this same issue? I have been plagued with this for over 50 years! I am seeing a Urologist, but it just doesn't go AWAY! Along with it, of course, I am having a "pseudoexaserbation, with a recurrence of a flare up from a few months back, when I was treated with prednisone. The head is just not screwed on straight again!
Hi, 4fishylady , I am really sorry about the recurrent UTIs. I've lived with the same. Is your doctor testing your urine about a week after you've finished your antibiotics? That would indicate whether the initial UTI was cleared up--if the antibiotic did it's job --if your subsequent one is a new infection or just a continuation of the old one that wasn't really taken care of.
If your original infection isn't going away, your doc may try different antibiotics or have you take a longer course of the med.
If you are getting new infections, he needs to determine why-is it physical- a prolapse/cystocele (a cystoscope and pelvic exam can determine that)? Or is MS causing urine retention which can lead to bacteria growth in the retained urine your bladder doesn't or can't expel (a full urological checkup will find this)?
You mention steroids. That can cause or mask an infection. My neuro has always been very careful to check to make sure I don't have a UTI prior to starting me on steroids. My solumedrol IVs have been delayed for 6 months because of that.
Take care, and I hope your docs get to the bottom of this. It's amazing how something as 'simple' as a UTI can wreak such havoc with MS. Perhaps you should start an individual post on this topic. More people may see it and be able to share their experiences with you, too. π
Tutu I don't know how to do an individual post. Is that like copying the second part of my original and posting it?
Yes, 4fishylady . If you're able to copy what you wrote above, do that first. Then exit out of this post and start a brand new post. Just paste what you saved into the 'body' of that post and title it with something about your UTI question. Let me know if I've completely confused you and you need more help. π
Hi 4fishlady, do you Catheterize? That could be a problem also. Sounds like a specialist could be helpful.
Welcome Sggmcswain. Happy you found this group!
