I have looked at all your photo posts and being a lifetime sewe,r I understand. I have a good zillion buttons. I am really impressed with you fine motor skills. If I could figure out how to post pictures, I would show you all some of my quilts. I have a cat quilt, just like you have a kitty cat picture. Keep on playing button button.

I'd love to see your quilts! People tell me they don't have the patience for what I do, but I sure don't have the patience to quilt! What a talent you have!

I hope you find someone to help you post pictures of your quilts. I'm a quilter, too. Seeing all this art is so inspiring.

Do you create your own patterns? and is this self-taught? What kind of adhesive do you use?

I was wondering the same thing?

They are really great, creative and unique!

I see pictures I like (or someone gives me a picture they want me to do) and I work from them. As far as glue, I use Tacky Glue for the buttons and plain old Elmer's for the beads. I needed a fine point nozzle for glue for the bead so that's how I ended up with Elmer's. When I'm done I let the entire thing sit flat for 2 days, then I turn them upside-down and shake! I make sure all is down tight! I kind of taught myself to do this. The closest thing I've found to what I do is Jane Perkins in the UK. She is my mentor and we email. She gave me pointers when I got started and has been very encouraging. Google her art. Hers make mine look like I'm in kindergarten.

You must have had an artistic eye to begin with! 🎨 Not many people turn a profit on their OT work! Lol.

I bet it's nerve-racking to turn your finished product upside-down and shake! 😬

How nice that Ms. Perkins has mentored you.

Thanks so much for sharing the glue info. Have you tried a glue gun or do you think that'd be overkill?

My experience with glue guns is they don't stick as well as I'd like them to. Jane Perkins uses them but they make me nervous!

My mom was an artist and her mother used to teach art. I'm not as good as they but at least some of it trickled down!

I understand. Some work better than others as I learned the hard way. Just got a new one so I'm hopeful it will be better.

The artistic talent certainly was handed down in your family! No doubt about that! :)

Awesome racoon. A button racoon is not as mischevious as a live one. Haha.
