I have video proof, too! I actually swam! No one is more amazed than I that I could ever learn to swim, but I figured I'd surely never learn after a diagnosis of MS. I may never really conquer MS, but it's thrilling to conquer something that's had me beaten all these years.
What are you conquering? This group always inspires me to keep trying. You're all amazing!

Two years ago, I jumped from the "jumping rock" at my sister's pool to encourage my nephew to overcome a fear. He was waiting in the water to get me out of the deep water since I couldn't swim. It gave me the idea that maybe I could finally learn to swim, but I didn't get into a pool again until this year. My sister got me flippers and webbed gloves for my hands to make it easier to exercise. All of a sudden, I found myself swimming! It's great to have such a supportive sister!
I don't think I have heard that, but I'll have to find it. Have you heard "Oceans" with one line being about the place "where feet may fail"? I appreciate the analogy very much.
Wow! Congratulations! Way to go! Well done. What more can I say. Be proud of yourself. God works in mysterious ways and also gives us our heart desires. You deserve some chocolate π« ππ blessings Jimeka π¦ π
You just love chocolate π« don't you I think if someone said I got the mail to day you would say time to get chocolate π« and that's not a bad thing Lol
Karen-x , that's wonderful! I must say that by reading posts here about what people can accomplish against the odds inspires me daily to stay focused on the good and the things I can still do, but also on trying to learn something new. You've all been a tremendous blessing to me!
I sent the little video my sister took of me to my kids. One in Illinois had been worrying about my losing ground lately, but the video assured her I was all right.
So your encouragement spreads beyond me to family, too.
Congrats! I love swimming. Maybe you'll encourage me to get back on my bike. I miss riding that. My balance and my dizzy spells have kept me off that for several years now. I use to bike 10 miles a day. I'd be happy to try for one!
Juleigh21 , when we move to town, I've been thinking about getting a 3-wheeled one, since I wouldn't have to worry as much about balance issues. Do you think you could handle that?
My daughter wants to fix up my bike since it's really nice. I thought I try to "get back on the horse" so to speak. If that doesn't work out I'll try a 3- wheeled bike. I feel so encouraged now! Thanxπ
Congratulations. Its always exciting to learn new things at any age. But I didn't expect yo learn to move at 65. That's another experience coming for you. God bless.
I, too, have the ole' MS. I haven't tried to swim for a couple of years. I used to be a fish. Try living by this. I may have MS, but MS will never, ever have me. I can see you are already on your way.
