A side note... how many of you had ever even heard of myelin before being diagnosed with MS? I know I never had. I have 2 relatives with MS. I thought MS attacked your muscles. I was surprised when I learned it was the nervous system😳.

I was told MS wasn't genetic but.....I have a cousins born Jan, One Feb , and I'm March...all born same area> same year all have MS.MRI's and spinal fluids.Im thinking maybe in our time, the genetic malformation may be found and changed.Look at how far we have come from original Star Trek to reality of social media etc.NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.Pls all hang in there, we are puzzle pieces of life and fits.

Juleigh21 , I used to be a nurse, so I was familiar with myelin. In fact, we used to be great friends.

But I've sure learned an awful lot more about it after the diagnosis!

Thanks for the laugh.

May I be honest and ask a question. With me EVERYONE....just say NOYB (None Of Your Business) As a matter of fact when I'm out and someone is rude on purpose I say NOOOYBEEE and they give me a weird look and I have a laugh and leave...anywho....Juleigh21 being a nurse, how did you get thru the depression of not doing what you normally do.That is one tough job and activity. When MS hit, how did you explain to people for instance who questioned you doing so much than couldn't?

You know the :you look so good syndrome of the world. You are a wealth of happiness and knowledge, ty!

I bet if you told anyone that you lost your meylin to day they would say "oh I'm so sorry where did it go" they don't know what your talking about. Let's face it did any of us know what it was until we Googled it.

Thanks for the laugh haha

I have taken so many biology and anatomy courses throughout my life, but if I'd heard of myelin I surely didn't remember it. But now myelin and I are best friends--I just wish there was a way to acquire more of it!

That is really actually a great question...how can we get more myelin to build up?You may be onto something!

Hi, jackiesj . I've heard that the scientists are hard at work trying to find a way but the research is in its infancy and I don't think it'll happen any time soon.
