3 (technically, 6) MRI's Done Today

Hi Everyone!

I had brain, cervical, and thoracic spine MRI's this morning, 2 hours. So, I guess technically that would be 6 since I had them done first without Gd and then with Gd, lol. I didn't mind as I LOVE MRI's. I don't even use the ear plugs and music. The loud banging is white noise to me, very relaxing. When done, I feel energized. The technician couldn't believe it, lol. I came home with the disk but my computer is being a bugger. I guess I'll have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday to read the report......unless I can get my computer D drive working. (I bring home my disks and look them over before my neuro does, LOL.)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

You've been busy! You are certainly unique in that you enjoy MRIs! I'm glad for you!

Hi, @shadowsmom42, I've never known of anyone to talk about loving MRIs! In fact, I seemed to be in the minority of people who don't mind them, but I don't think I'd go so far as to say I loved them. I've had 5 of them over the years, and I'd really like not to have any more. Some people are claustrophobic and really hate MRIs.

Youre talking about me there. I'm extremely claustrophobic. When the did my brain and spine it took 3 tries to complete. The third time they finally sedated me. Which I told them from the beginning. I definitely don't enjoy them. Lol. Y'all have a blessed Sunday.

Doubled51 Do you have the option to have an open MRI done? My bf is very claustrophobic and that is what he had to have so they could get scans of his back.

At the time I was in the hospital had lost use of my left arm and my walking ability and wasn't asked my option and honestly wasnt thinking clearly. I've had many mris over the years before and after back surgeries. With a couple of valium I'd had pretty good luck with open mris. But I was told this would be a 3 to 4 hour procedure. I told them from tithe beginning because of my claustrophobia and chronic back pain they better sedate me. on the 3 try they listened. I lasted long enough on the first to get brain test done so they were already sure of the diagnosis but had to finish the skeletal test to be sure of things. I had an open. Brain MRI Wed with 2 ativan and did ok. Have to have another in 2 more months just not sure if brain only or full scan again. I sure hope brain only. Being newly diagnosed trying to find an idea of progression. Thank for suggestion though. All help appreciated. I see Neuro Tuesday to get results. I'm anxious to know.

My last set of mri's was brain, cervical and thoracic spine without, then with contrast dye. About 3 hrs worth, the noise lulled me to sleep..

I have fallen asleep during an mri and they had to wake me up because my leg twitches in my sleep and they had to redo the scan of where my legged twitched. This has happened a couple of times. I try to stay awake now so it doesn't take any longer than it has to.

Wow! Hidden

I am ok with MRI s too. They're a good time for meditation. And I imagine the pounding, clanking noises are actively attacking MS lesions.

But! U must have been in the MRI a long...time 😮

I had a two hour MRI, fell asleep a couple of times. My only issue was my right shoulder really began to hurt. As soon as I got out and could move it I was fine.

Has anybody else had vision changes during an MRI? When I get the MRI machine with the gray stripe down the middle f what I can see, it changes or doesn't in sync with the changing of the noses. Sometimes the stripe widens sometimes it narrows
