I saw a lady tooling along the beach the last time we were there with her Canadian crutches. We are heading there in a few weeks and am seriously thinking about investing in a set - or maybe walking poles. Has anyone ever used these devices on the beach and found them helpful?

Canadian Crutches
I'm curious about these crutches! What is special about them?
They have cups that you rest your forearms on instead of pads under your shoulders.
SueAB , thank you. I am more familiar with the term "forearm crutches." (Probably because I'm old!) I can see that while there would be a learning curve, they could be really easier on the user.
SueAB , I've had forearm crutches for about 20yrs now. I haven't used them all that time and can usually get by with just one (as others would use a cane), but when I go for a walk around the block or such, I must use both. I'm sorry I can't comment on using them on the sand. I don't recall using them on the beach, even though we lived in HI for many years and I used them there.
I am thinking about replacing mine. They've held up well and have been what I've needed, but with all the miles I've put on them, it might be time to retire them. Here's what I got and the place I ordered them from:

I hope you find what works well for you. And enjoy the beach! 💕

SueAB just got back from beach. 4-footed canes worked great for me. I use a regular hiking stick in grass of concrete and electric scooters in stores, but the 4-footed cane was perfect in the sand at PC beach FLORIDA
