With 10 possible DMD is anything be done to determine which drug would be best for the patient?

Hi Barb_28 Have you talked to your Neuro about this? This would most definitely be something that is between the 2of you.☺ As for the best DMT for you to chose from, MSAA has a site called How to S.E.A.R.C.H. for the right treatment for you.☺

Interestingly, deciding on a DMT is not that different than when I had to decide on an antihypertensive, antidepressant, diabetic med or even an antibiotic for a patient. There are algorithms determined by major organizations, like the ADA, but they are guides not exact rules.

Side effects, other drugs that might interact, patients life styles and preferences, and disease specificity and severity are all taken into consideration. Then it's a wait and see of how effective and how well tolerated the selected drug is.

Medicine is by no means an exact science.

Good suggestion to check search and be as well informed as you can be and discuss with your doc.
