Just finished making a cheesecake

I used to bake a lot, but don't seem to enjoy it as much now. So I volunteered to make an Autumn Apple Cheesecake for tomorrow. I haven't baked in years. So the recipe calls for chopped pecans and my kids HATE them. I decided to do half with and half without. Hopefully nobody dies tomorrow.πŸ˜†

Oh, YUM!!! Anything that beautiful has to be delicious too, Judi4. I think your cheesecake will be a hit tomorrow. If it were at my house, it would be missing a couple slices already. πŸ’•

Jesmcd2 πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ’¦πŸ’¦πŸ’¦. Hopefully it doesn't kill anyone today. Having not baked in so long I want it to be just right. That's the perfectionist in me.

How was the autumn apple cheesecake? Was it as good as it looked?

jimeka The cheesecake was a success. Thanks for asking. Everyone kept saying how delicious it was and my daughter had two slices. She's 16 and has a cute little shape, so right now she can do those kinds of things. I think maybe for Christmas I'll attempt a chocolate with slices of Andes mints on top. I have a cookbook of nothing but cheesecake recipes.

jimeka I love strawberries on cheesecake. I also love anything lemon. Years and years ago out of high school, I used to work as a waitress for Poppin Fresh Pies and one of the desserts we served was Strawberry Cheesecake. I think this is when my love of cheesecake began.

My son also loves apple pie and can polish one off by himself if I don't get after him. I think this was why I decided to make the apple cheesecake because he is really a picky eater and I wanted him to have something special to eat. I will definitely send you the recipe.😊

O... M....G.... Andes Mints? I'm beginning to not like you anymore Judi4 :) that sounds way to good to be true! Have you ever had a piece of cheesecake with a a slice of orange? You just squeeze the juice on it? It's so light and airy. Had that in Cali. Just another way to have it.

BTW told you no one would die from it lol :D

Jesmcd2 No I've never tried that before, but I do have a recipe for a chocolate orange supreme cheesecake. πŸ˜‚I know. I think I put so much pressure on myself and I'm not always able to do and put out what I used to. I know it's just my anxiety and wanting people/family to still enjoy what I bake. I used to make the cheesecakes for everyone's birthday. Everyone had a favorite. When I had kids I kind of stopped doing it as much and then in 2000 after my daughter was born, I became really sick with Chronic Fatigue and then Fibromyalgia. I had no energy to do anything. I think though it's like riding a bike, once you get back on it becomes easier. Sorry for rambling on.😊

Bake as long as you are able to, Judi4. It sounds like baking for others may be your 'love language.' I baked all the time when my boys were younger and still at home. I baked my Christmas gifts for friends and neighbors, and my contribution to Thanksgiving meals, church potlucks and neighborhood picnics were pies. I just can't pull them off anymore. It's been hard to accept that, and when my last disaster is long-forgotten, I'll try again, only to be reminded of the pie before and the cake before that. I miss baking. I never realized how much that was my 'love language,' my way of sharing my love with others, until I was no longer able to do it again. I'm so happy you are able to continue to do this, Judi. What a blessing to have your cheesecake not only look beautiful, but taste delicious too! Bake on!!! πŸ’•

Judi4 You ramble? Have you not read my posts? Hahaha Carry on my friend, carry on ;) But you're killing me with all this cheese cake talk. I want it. Now. Right. Now. Lol l used to bake, and every once in awhile, if l think l will have the energy l will make blueberry muffins or banana bread. Last year was the 1st time l couldn't make Christmas cookies. l ended up getting them from QVC (l won't again) lm with you WAshingtongirl it's hard to let it go. When you put so much love into it. β™‘
