I will have my first infusion of Ocrevus tomorrow. I'm a little nervous because it has always been an ordeal to find a good vein for me.

Hi Debs5997 welcome to the MSAA Community 😊. I'm not on Ocrevus, but there are a lot here that are.😊 And I'm sure they would to help.

We are a pretty big family here , so welcome to it!😄

👋🏼 Welcome, Debs5997 !

We're so glad you joined. This is a really great group of MS patients who support each other and understand the challenges that come with MS. We ask questions here, learn from other people's posts, sometimes vent, and often have a good laugh. I joined a couple of months ago and am so glad that I did. I think you will be to!

Good luck tomorrow! I hope setting up the IV line isn't problematic. Please write again and let us know how you made out, okay?

I personally don't consider myself a MS patient Nom_De_Plume and don't think anyone should. We have it. We live with it. We Survive with it.

Jesmcd2 I'm not sure I understand what you mean. How is being an MS patient different from having MS, for you? Thanks for clarifying. :)

It gives it more power than it deserves.

Welcome, Debs5997 . As we say, we're sorry you have MS, but happy you're here. I dread blood draws and IVs because of hard to find veins, too. I'll be praying for a 'good' first stick tomorrow and an uneventful infusion. Be sure to hydrate the remainder of today-and tomorrow (I'm reading this late in the day), and keep your arms/wrists warm. We'll be looking for that update. 💕

I am here getting my second infusion. They split the first one in 2 sessions.

I have not had any problem with taking the medication

Unfortunately we won't start feeling effects for a couple of months.

I am praying it just stops further issues. Just put in remission!

I with you the best best of luck

I also have really small veins... hydrate (I drink so much water that urine is almost clear), don't drink coffee until iv in, keep hands warm, eat Chinese food night before (finally something fun!). I'm on rituxan and love it! good luck!

@kathyrags Is it the sodium in the Chinese food that you find helps (to retain fluid and increase your pressure)? 😊

Hello Debs5997, it's Fancy1959 welcoming you to this awesome chat room. You have found a safe place full of some of the most compassionate and caring people I have ever met. It's a great place to come ask question, with concerns, or simply speak to other who understand exactly what you're going through. Congratulations on starting the Ocrevus infusion. Don't worry about you rains because we all know that the nurses of the infusion centers are real pros when it comes to dealing with oun veins that like to play hide and go seek! I get my first infusion of Ocrevus a week from Monday on September the 18th. I can't wait. Please share how yours goes and what type of response you get from the drug on your MS. I will do the same thing back as soon as I start it. I'm thinking of you and hoping all goes well with the infusions and the medicine. Until we speak again take care. Remember together we are stronger!

Thanks for the kind words. My first infusion went reasonably well. They had difficulty finding a vein but I expected that. The staff did their best to keep me comfortable. I had one bad moment when my blood pressure dropped pretty low and I didn't feel so great, but the issue was rectified and I rebounded. I wish you the best of luck and will pray you have a good outcome.

Debs5997 I am als having mine also and I am a hard stick my problem is I don't drink enough fluids so I am going to bring two water bottles with me and drink them all before they start. And then it should be fine see I have to drive into Boston and I don't want to get stuck in traffic to go to the bathroom so I will drink my water once I get there and they should be able to find it. That's my game plan make it yours or you can do this. Good luck to you.
