Hi everyone! Just started having really bad shock-like pain in my lower jaw on the left side. The pain is especially bad when I eat, brush my teeth or touch that side of my face. I'm pretty sure it's trigeminal nerve pain. Was wondering if anyone has experienced this and what has helped. I have an appointment with my Neuro next week.
Trigeminal Neuralgia: Hi everyone! Just... - My MSAA Community
Trigeminal Neuralgia
I was diagnosed with TN in 2012. Carbamazepine worked well for awhile. For the last year I've been getting nerve blocks. As long as I'm not relapsing I'm pain free. Good luck. I know the pain is unmerciful.
Thanks Juleigh21 . Hoping my Neuro will have some answers
I haven't been diagnosised with it yet but the pain is horrible I usually have to lay around with ice packs on my face. Mine gets so bad that my eyeballs are going to pop out of my head! I just found out I had ms on 7/28 so it's all new to me but it's all making sense now!
I have suffered with trigeminal neuralgia for 15 yrs. sounds like this is what you have. It's what led to my MS diagnosis. Over the yrs the TN episodes have gotten worse and lasted longer. Tegretol relieves most of the pain but has side effects. I recently had Gamma knife surgery and am hoping it works for a sustained number of years. So sorry to hear of your pain
I sent this cream to a friend with this and it helped a lot. amazon.com/gp/product/B000F...
It's Sombra cream that worked for a couple of people.
