I have had MS for 16 years. But when I was DX my doctor said it looked like I had it for 10yrs. 19 lesions in brain and spinal cord! RRM.

I am scared. What will happen to me in a year.
The best thing that you can do is to sit down for a heart-to-heart with your treating doctor. Tell him or her how you feel and together you can come up with a plan that hopefully work for you. This is not a disease you can fight alone. It takes you, your family and your health care team to all work together. Good luck!
I don't know that any doctor can predict the future of how MS will or will not progress. When I had the MRI that was the diagnostic test, all I remember is hearing I had no active lesions and they had probably been there a long time. My neuro has yet In 10+ years to recommend another MRI. He feels that as long as I am doing well, then the COPAXONE must be working so he sees no reason to do a repeat MRI because he would not change treatment. I am pretty sure most neurologists would not agree with this, but I see his point. He may decide to do one this Nov. I'm just as happy not having it although am curious to see if anything has changed. I see him usually once a year.
Anyone who is dealing with a life-altering disease MS and claims they are not scared are not telling the truth. You are not alone. When you get scared reach out and find someone to talk to or a shoulder to cry on. Try to think of the future like I do. No one knows what tomorrow, next week, or next year will bring. Only the big guy upstairs knows our future. Get up each morning and thank Him for another day.
Hello, I'm not a doctor and I can only tell you what work for me. Try to exercise your body and mind as often as possible. Use it or lose it. That statement is very true. I didn't believe it at first but this is the very truth.
The past is history, the future is a mystery, Today is the present that's why they call it a gift. Live in the moment as best you can. None of us know what tomorrow will or will not bring. Enjoy each day, do what you can and do the best you can with what you have to work with that day.
