Is anyone else having problems making it through the work day? I think I'm doing Okay, but I have to look everything up so often even though I've been at the same job for almost 25 years. My mind just doesn't work like it used to. My eye site is getting real bad and my eyes constantly bother me. My walking has gotten pretty bad and I constantly trip because I drag my left foot. I used to be a very good pharmacist and I have many loyal customers. I'm not sure whether pharmacy has changed more or my abilities have, but no matter how hard I work I can no longer do all that is expected of me by the mega retailer that I work for. I'm ready to give up and look into full disability and admit that I can't handle it anymore. But to apply for disability you have to be unemployed. Even though I know my condition is much worse than so many of the people I know on disability, I'm too scared to quit my job before I am actually approved for disability. I have bills I need to pay each month. How do I live while I'm waiting to be approved for disability and what if I'm not approved? Does anyone have any advice for me on this?
Sounds to me like you might need to have a good talk with your medical team about their recommending you be put on permanent disb. Talk with your company Human Resources Dept to find out if you have any kind of coverage for temp disb until permanent coverage thru Social Security comes through. Do some online research to prepare and get all of your medical records, reports, etc. together. Best to you.
