I have read that page but my daughter is in concerta xl for adhd so a lot of meds interact with this.
Andie,
It is highly unlikely that a doctor would prescribe a medication that would interact with ADHD medications. The medication would be contraindicated in that situation. To prescribe it would be against official prescribing guidelines.
I can understand why you must be so concerned about this - you really do need to talk to your doctor about your worries.
Here's a list of medications that can interact with Concerta XL. Medications used to treat acne are not contraindicated, so are not known to interact with Concerta XL:
•clonidine
•phenobarbital
•phenytoin
•primidone
General types of medication:
•anticonvulsants
•antihypertensives
•antipsychotics
•coumarin anticoagulants
•dopaminergics
•halogenated anaesthetics
•medicines that raise blood pressure
•monoamine oxidase inhibitors
•selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors
•tricyclic antidepressants
Some medications for acne are simply applied to the skin (topical treatments), so tend to have fewer side-effects and are less likely to interact with other medications. Perhaps this is an option that could be considered.
Take care,
