How long for treatment to work for Perioral Dermatitis?

Hello Everyone, I went to see a dermatologist last week and he diagnosed that I had Perioral Dermatitis. It is dry, itchy, very red sore skin around my eyes and mouth, but also now down both sides of my nose and across and under my chin, so quite a big area, although at the moment my cheeks do remain clear, thank goodness! I was prescribed Rosex Cream 0.75% to be used once a day, and Lymecycline Caps 408mg one to be taken daily.

I have been extremely lucky for a lady in her 70's, and have never before suffered with skin problems on my face . Can anyone tell me if they have had the same treatment, and what sort of effects you might have had from this combination? I know it's early days, but at the moment it seems to be getting worse not better. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Thank you very much, any advice would be much appreciated.

I am very sorry to hear about this and have not heard of these medications but I would say important thing is in addition to ensure that you moisturise well with a very neutral hypoallergenic product.

Please continue this treatment, after a couple of months - hopefully this will go away. Please do not use any other ointment or cream without asking your doctor. If Rosex doesn't work, there are others. These do cause some burning sensation but after a few weeks things should get better.
