Sebaceous Cyst.?

Two days ago I contacted my drsas the lump that I’ve had under my left armpit for long time was now inflamed red very painful lump not moving, and tight, he gave me 56 antibiotics 2,000 mg a day to take, I wanted him to see me but knew he wouldn’t! And didn’t want pics either! Which to me is unbelievable, I’m immune suppressed on pred and azathrioprine daily have been for several years, he said it sounded by my description that it was infected, and in his words we have to be careful it doesn’t turn septic! As it’s so painful I’m trying to bathe it in salt water hoping that it will drain, it was draining a bit when I rang the drs, the smell is dreadful, I know it will take a while to get better, I must admit as it’s so tight and painful I’m getting concerned, the last think I need is it going septic, the other thing is how does the dr know it’s a sebaceous cyst if never seen it! I had this two years ago when obviously I was seen by dr who drained it, it was a pea sized lump that didn’t hurt, this is so different and different shape

It has now got two spots on it, and where one ddrains occasionally there’s a hole in the last hour, still very tight and very red, not sure whether you can see the two spots

I am aghast that your GP did not ask to see a photo after you described your symptoms and also, could have checked your notes to see that this is a repeat of a previous condition. All I can say is that you are doing the right thing with limited info to go on. Good luck but if it gets worse/antibiotics not effective, get yourself up to a pharmacy, minor injuries clinic or A&E dept at your nearest hospital.

Yes I will Thankyou, the dr did say if I find it gets worse then I’m to ring 111, today though I’m feeling awful I wouldn’t say it’s getting worse as such seems the same nothing much happening, I’m feeling really nauseous I think that’s the antibiotics though maybe, I really cannot get over the fact myself that a dr can call you, and not want to see pics of the problem, if he’s not intending to see you, trying to keep positive and drinking water, praying for it to heal soon, and Thankyou lovesradio
