Dry skin and dry everything else!

Hi, I am new here. I have had very dry skin for a few years now, for which I am prescribed what I call "embalming fluid"! but in the past week I have experienced skin coming off my fingers, also in the last month I have had a very dry mouth, & In the last 2 years also very dry hair with extreme hair loss, + dry sore eyes with blurry vision too. None of these problems have been investigated. GP's are not interested.

I don't know if there is a connection with all these dry parts? Thank you!

I'm sure there is a connection, without being able to say what! I suggest you take a good multi-vitamin-and-mineral, bought from a health food store (about 20 pounds or more for 3 months) and also take fish oil - at least 1000mg a day (or something containing 'Omega 3's).

The problem may be hormonal, so you could discuss that (and the loss of skin) with your doctor, and also ask for a general blood test (including for diabetes). Also try reading Patrick Holford's book 'Solve your Skin Problems'. He is very knowledgeable about many aspects of health and alternative, but scientific, ways of treating them. I have learnt a great deal about how to handle various health problems from him.

Thank you for your reply Polski. I am taking quality vitamins & fish oil/omega 3. I'm sure you are right about the hormones though. The peeling skin started when I bought the dud liothyronine from internet, (gold dust) - & since I found a few old Liothyronines in my bag, the skin has stopped peeling. BTW GP's are very pricy here, + not interested in hormones or skin!
