Acne !!!: Hi I have acne and have tried everything... - MY SKIN
Acne !!!
If the over the counter treatments aren't working, go & see your GP as there are treatments which can help. The sooner you go, the better, otherwise you could end up with acne scarring.
I will add that a close relative finds that dairy products are a major trigger for him. His skin is much better now (with treatment from the GP) but within hours of consuming any kind of dairy, he gets new spots.
First determine what type of acne do you suffer from. Personally I suffered from cystic acne for years, I had no small pimples on my face at all, instead I had big boils under my skin.
Over the counter medicine for me didn't work, instead it made my skin more fragile and cause more breakouts. Since I'm a regular gym goer, my protein intake had an effect on my acne. The more protein I ate (meat, chicken & fish) I felt as though it had an effect on my breakouts.
I went to my GP who then referred me to a dermatologist. I have been seeing my dermatologist for over 2 years now. I have tried different prescription medicine for my acne but nothing seemed to clear it away. But 2 weeks ago, I started treatment on isotretonin. This drug is used for patients with severe acne and has a great success rate. I've only been on it for 2 weeks and I can say I'm already starting to see improvement.
My best advice to you is to go see your doctor asap, before it gets worse and has a permanent effect on your skin.
Hope this helps
HI Im wondering is it acne ? or acne rosacea....if so have a look on the website rosacea.ie for advice and tips on clean skincare and diet to help control it..
aslo the finca skin organics type 2 serum which works on the bumps/pustules/pimples has before and after photos which show how well it works..its a natural alternative to soolantra
hope this is of help...
Do seek help from your GP as acne can really affect your emotional wellbeing. Ask for a referral to a dermatologist if the acne is not clearing. I too have been treated successfully with Isotretonin, however it is a last resort drug which isn't suitable or safe for everyone.
