Dry cracking patch of skin

I have already dry skin on my legs (need to moisturise more) but for a couple of weeks i've had an unusually textured patch of skin as you can see in the photo.

It's a circular area, with a freckle inside.

It was flaking off a few days ago and now it's got red lines inside it and is flat and "scaly", should I be concerned by this? Like cancer? Or just a dry patch? Have a gp appt in about a month.

My advice is to leave it till you see your doctor. Meanwhile use an inexpensive cream.
