White patches on face

My sons have white patches on their face

Could it be vitiligo? If so not much can be done. If it's both of them it's probably not. Go to docs or walk in clinic. You haven't given much information .

As a help to identification, vitiligo is smooth normal appearing skin, merely lacking pigmentation in patches.

(If the skin is sunburnt it can raise into weeping welts and be fairly red).

Vitiligo also tends to affect joints more than just random areas of skin, thought he umilicus is also sometimes the source of an 'edge'. Vitiligo responds best to treatments if started early. 30+ years on I am unlikely to see any changes now, and I am used to my skin's mottle.

Other causes of white patches tend to cause flaky or roughened skin in the affected areas.
