I went to the doctors when i was about 13yr old cause my skin was very dry and flakey. To cut a long story short he gave me E45 and of i went. The E45 works for a short period of time like 20 mins idh and its back again. I gave up going back to the doctors for yrs. Im now 46yr old and have suffered with this awefull skin condition. A few months ago i decided to go back to the doctors and he gave me this double based gel to try it is a cream and i have seen a massive improvement in my skin. If you suffer from dry flakey skin please go to your doctor and ask to give this double based gel a try and let me no how you get on with it. Hope this thread helps people out cause this skin condition has made my life hell. Good luck people.

I have now used Doublebase gel for about 4 years after GP finally referred me to a really good dermatologist who did patch testing, gave me results, samples of dermol lotion for washing, Doublebase emollient wash for the bath and the gel for my skin. result was big improvement, skin not perfect, but much less dry and irritated. I use a minimal amount of corticosteroid if the going gets really tough, put it on first when wait about 30 mins and do Doublebase.
